myON Reading

Summer Reading Opportunity

Students can read over 3,000 digital books for FREE this summer on the myON Reader from Capstone!

· For student login, go to:

· Type in and select your school name

· Username is their 10-digit student (scholars use this daily so they should know this...)

· All students have the same password: “read”

Any students who have never used myON will need to complete a short interest inventory, and 2nd graders and above who are new will be asked to take a Lexile test so that myON can find books for the students that are both reading level appropriate AND on topics they like to read. Students can use “myon” anywhere they have Internet access. We also have a FREE iPad/Android tablet app (just search for it under “myon”) that allows up to 20 books to be downloaded and read when the device is offline.

Students will have FREE access through the end of August. Have a great summer… and read on myON!

For grades 3-8, a great list of books to look at for summer reading is the Sunshine State Young Readers Award books. Please visit the Florida Media page for the list.

The Florida Department of Education suggests the titles on this list for great summer reading.

Also, local book stores have some promotions going on during the summer.
